OK, wisercj. I gotta know. How did you make the ammo carriers? And those Napoleon Mk I's? Your army looks great!

OK, wisercj. I gotta know. How did you make the ammo carriers? And those Napoleon Mk I's? Your army looks great! Kev Thanks, having grown up with 1/72 and an interest in unusual periods I did a lot of kit bashing, head swapping and even dabbled in true scratch building (see Minions for that). So to give some different character for the French, and Germans which have been stalled for the past year or so due to other projects, I look across the hobby and other sources for alternatives. The ammo carriers are based on a Steamer Tank hull with parts from the MK II Mobile Artillery, a scratch build crane, and tracks from the Dystopian Legions 32mm Kingdom of Britannia Basset Tankette. Although 32mm, Dystopian Legions has several useful vehicles that can be readily incorporated into AQMF. For instance, their Pioneer Ironclad makes for a good stand in as a MK V Goliath, as long as you don't mind tracks instead of wheels. The L'Emperor Napoleon MK I's are based on a 25mm Steam tank model that I acquired a few years ago at a hobby show. Not sure of the origin but it looks similar to the 25mm Ironclad Miniatures Steam Tanks, which is another great source for larger armored vehicles.

Hi wisercj, Thank you for the information. I am going to look those up. I've been going through my old WW1 figures and figure out what I can use or convert. You have really inspired me to convert and re-use my older figures.

Any model within a few 'clicks' of AQs strange 1/92nd range will work. If you've a large collection of say HO scaled 1/72 or 1/87 figures (old and new Airfix and several other lines as well), just play all the human units in that scale. The tanks might look abit small, but for the most part (unless you want to buy 1/72 WW1 tanks) it'll work fine. Some folks aren't 'purist' on scale and use the larger figures mixed in - to each their own. There's hordes of info about for whatever floats your Martian. The limiting factor, as of this writing, is Martian models availablity.

WoW great stuff. Where did you find the model. BTW most of my TO&E for Battletanks are based on the 32mm Dystopia line - they've even got a giant Mono-like flamer tank! I find the smaller 2 model sets to be the better buy, but want to get at least one of each of the 'big' ones as well.

It's an off brand 1/72 resin kit.
I have several of the Dystopian Legion vehicles as well. I use the Dystopian Legions - Federated States of America Pioneer Ironclad as a substitute for the MK V Goliath. Just has tracks instead of wheels.

Check out my TO&E post in the sub-board for all my musings on those great tanks. I favor the price of the two for one sets but saving up my pennies for some of the big boys! Great stuff - how about a pic of you FSA Goliath?

Check out my TO&E post in the sub-board for all my musings on those great tanks. I favor the price of the two for one sets but saving up my pennies for some of the big boys! Great stuff - how about a pic of you FSA Goliath? Sorry I have a few photos from the game I used the Goliath in, but I had some problems with photobucket, a virus that kept popping up, so I gave up. That was the second game we tried out the Tesla tank and it along with the Goliath accounted for at least a half dozen tripods due to sympathetic detonations. The first game the Tesla appeared in the martians focused on it and destroyed it before it could get a shot off.

Wise of the Martians - see my comment on the 'order of Annie Oakley' given to a gal whose Tesla stopped a whopping 10 tripods and drone squads in a battle at Historicon 2016.

Putting Old Glory gun crews with FoW equipment reduces the difference in scales. From a few feet away, differences in scale between 15mm and 18mm are minimal amount troops. Remember that soldiers vary naturally between 5'5" and 6'6". It's different with vehicles but if the same vehicles are all the same scale small differences are okay.
