Nice battle and report. I've on small question - what did the minelayer do during the battle? I'd think a spread of mines in front of the trench line or a little more forward would of helped, the humans had enough initiative to have gotten several out. Just curious.

Great battle report and photos! What paints did you use on the Martians and BEF? I like the blue sheen to the metallic coloured Martians.

Thanks, for the Martians I used Tamiya metallic gun metal, with Warhammer Leadbelcher for highlights. The BEF is black undercoated, then dry brushed Warhammer Fenris Grey and then a black wash over them.

Thanks for that, from what I can remember the minelayer did not play much of a role, but did survive and was last seen heading back to the trenches! My opponent (son in this case) is still learning to use his forces (US and BEF) more effectively, but somehow still wins, maybe I should learn from him

Didn't recognize the Fenris Grey with the black wash - nice!

What are the statistics for the big gun? Did you use the super heavy gun rule of the land iron clad?

What are the statistics for the big gun? Did you use the super heavy gun rule of the land iron clad? I used the Heavy Artillery (heavy howitzer) on page 92 of the HB rule book but as a turret rather than a fixed position.

Didn't recognize the Fenris Grey with the black wash - nice! Sorry forgot to say it was Tamiya spray paint, which gave it that nice satin shine, then black wash in between notches and grooves to give depth. I think the Fenris grey may be discontinued as I have had a bottle for many years, running low.

Luckily I have a 1/2 bottle of Fenris gray - use it for windows on FoW vehicles.

That railgun is indeed awesome. I've been toying with those things for some time and have gotten fixed on an old atomic firing platform in 1/72. But anything over 12" + is going to look great and be the basis of many a scenario. I think I would of used stats from the Goliath for the gun myself - would of upped the need to knock it out proto!
