Finally got a Wichita Six Shooter made!!! Used the Flames of War Guards Katyusha boxed set of four vehicles, to help it fit into the AQMF scale figs I had to cut it in half, add some extended chassis L bracket and a small deck between the cab and rear axles. Had to cut the 8 rails down to six per the description written about in “Texas Front: Salient”. Turned out decently! Now to paint it as soon as the glue dries!!!

Here is a close-up of the completed truck, prior to painting. I cut two of the eight rails off, I'll use them later on the "Coyote" scout car, which had a one rail guided rocket launcher mounted on it.

I went slightly different with mine. keeping the length as built and adjusting the launch rails as well as decreasing the number of rockets

I went slightly different with mine. keeping the length as built and adjusting the launch rails as well as decreasing the number of rockets I went my route to fit in better with the larger figures from the AQMF range. Plus I do have some larger alternative vehicles from 1/72nd scale on down, so trying hard to get things as close as possible for the tabletop. Good way to get some different things on the battlefield!

I think I may have thought that extending the truck would be more difficult. Talk about shooting myself in the foot. And I haven't gotten around to re-reading Texas Salient to get the equipment descriptions better than my crap memory. And until I had both types of figures next to each other I didn't comprehend the actual difference.

If you have a jewelers saw, or other fine saw, it is easy to saw the Katyusha in half. I have tons of old plastic card stock which I used to build unit bases out of, so have lots of scrap I can down even further to make little "extender" parts for the trucks.
If you look at my LRSC thread you can see those larger cars, they do fit in well with the AQMF regular steam tanks. But, next to the Six Shooters they are LARGE! I need to find some caisson riders to fit in the seats of the LRSC cars. Since they are open topped.
I got into this game later on, I found a couple of lots on Ebay, so got already painted Tripods and an unassembled US army. I have more Tripods than TANKS!!! So I've been looking around everywhere for alternative models.
Love Scott's books, he has so much detail in them!
