They look great. My only suggestion would be to darken the ties. They were more than likely to have been treated with creosote and wold be black weathering to dark gray.

Sorry, my bad. I really only wanted hints for the Talus rocks, but thanks anyway. A light grey is all I can think of. We have no train tracks near here.

Woodland Scenics (in the railroad section) has a variety of colors for the track ballast, as well as a couple of different sizes.

I have some Talus and the smallest looks tooo big, that's why I tried sand for size. Talus Sand A lot of my previous terrain efforts (in 28mm) I used sand stained with differing shades of wood stain. And I am going to try the same with some grey decking stain I bought.

Sometimes I think I am so clever. The tracks I made fit the HO scale flat bed I finally dug up very well
The tracks are actually spring steel, and so the are already rusty and a light sanding brought up the shine on top easily

With the front and rear left over bits from the making of the Infantry carrier, I'd thought I might as well make some destroyed tanks. And still thinking, (it hurts), I thought it needed some more treads along the ground than it had, so here's a first effort usinga zip-tie

Am having trouble creating a Gallery for myself. So I'll add these here instead. Just some scatter terrain. The Camo Net is a shower / bath towel
