Watched the three part BBC War of the Worlds last night and I really enjoyed it. Its a take on the book so don't expect it to be the same and its more of a drama that pure scifi but I found in enjoyable.

Having watched this on YouTube several weeks ago, I did then watch it on BBC. Posted the following on the War of the Worlds Facebook page...
OK, my two penneth on the BBC WotW debate... whilst I didn't dislike it, I didn't like it. Some good visuals, particularly the fighting machines, but the Martians themselves were rubbish. Some good scenes, but really didn't like the flash forward moments. And I felt that there were a lot of elements from the book, but that they put them in a blender, and shared the result between the characters. I would have preferred them to stick more closely to the original details of the Martian invasion, but tell the story of different characters than the ones in the book, so satisfying the purists, but giving them the opportunity to tell "their story".
