ARES Games has just released (27 Sept in the US) another take on the Martian invasion. It is called TRIPODS and TRIPLANES.
It appears to be based somewhat on the WINGS OF GLORY system, but states that it is not compatible.

I saw that on Miniature market, the tripods seem a little small. Need to see one close up.

It came out as a kickstarter about 18 months ago.
All painted figures. I grabbed it on KS, but had lost interest in it by the time I got it, my focus still being on AQMF

The tripods will have to be smaller so as not to look vastly out of proportion with the aircraft, It appears that they intend to use the WINGS OF GLORY planes evem though they say the system is not compatible.
This probably means it is not compatible with AQMF, either, but the scenarios (if any provided) might be useful as starter material for AQMF battles.

You could probably use them as some sort of small scouts or runners.
They are much smaller than AQMF, maybe even half the size.

Certainly true statement, slave.
The miniatures are just markers functionally. The weight that a gamer places on scale appearance varies dramatically. I am willing to use "counts as" agreement with opponent to incorporate models that we don't have. This is diametrically opposite the GamesWorkshop requirement to have the specific model for anything in a game.
Game enjoyment is the goal.
