David Pearce from Abby Normal has stated on a facebook post that they don't have the moulds for the original tank and tripods as once they are all sold out no more will be made. Seems a shame especially as they seem to have all sold out in the uk

That is kind of odd. Injection molds are hellish expensive, but are a durable asset. They are often passed (sold) from manufacturer to manufacturer. I have seen models obviously from the same set of molds from several manufacturers. The first time from a major name maker, then sold to a second tier company, then to a third... They wear slowly but still produce parts, often with lots more flash.
Where did the molds go? They are big chunks of steel or copper. Not something that you misplace or overlook easily.
Did they get seized for non-payment when Alien Dungeon went into bankruptcy? Did AD even own them? IF the manufacturers owned the molds or had liens on them, they may have had every right to "repossess" them for non-payment and dispose of them as they wished. If AD owned them, they should have been part of the assets divided up in the bankruptcy settlement.
Or is this a simple way to terminate the "old" AQMF product line?

Paramount pulled the licence of anyone doing a game about Babylon V. They watched as AOG destroyed their molds. Paramount now regrets this as they lost most of their original .STL and other graphics files.
I'm sad to say this, but if the molds ever fell into unenlightened hands, the result would be: "What the F**k is this? to the recycle with you."
Heavy sigh
