The Battle of Caddo Lake was a pivotal moment in the fight to save Texas. With its attempt to liberate Shreveport rebuffed, The Texas Tank Corps, now renamed the 1st Texas Army Corps, retreated outside the vast fields of the Red Weed, and then entrenched. It’s north flank secured by Caddo Lake, the 36th “Lone Star” Division dug in using lessons hard won in the days when the survival of Texas was in doubt. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com/2019/05/battle-of-caddo-lake-phase-1.htmlEnjoy

Today I played with a 2 assault and a reaper tripod with 9 drones. I was opposed by all my Infantry and rough riders supported by a mark IV tank.
Whenever I made a critical hit roll on my Tripods, I rolled a 10. Needless to say it was a bad day. The human player also won initiative at the right time. The Rough Riders caught my last tripod, entangled it, and pummeled it at their liesure.
Still, good fun. Scorpion Drones are very effective against Infantry.
Where did you get the great tripod icons?

Tripod Icons? Both the hit markers and the Tripods on the map were downloaded from the website, and adjusted to size.

Well done. A bit of bad luck in that first volley (three 10s!) with little damage. I think the lack of artillery for the humans was a major contributor to their defeat. In any case, thank you for the first rate game!

Pardon for being tardy, please.
Where, what website, did you download the tripod icons from?

Once again, the lesson screams out at us: Artillery and time/distance for it to have effect is a key to sucess for human defenders. Obstacles and delays of any kind improve human chances of survival by giving time for the artillery to work on the tripods.

Well said boxholder. As air power comes into to play, it too will be a major key to success for humans - even in attacking situations
