Old Glory has (finally) posted production of the various long promised figures for WW1. Visit their site for costs and configurations of the units for the following types.
Causalties (12); Listening Party w/Periscope lookout (4); Stretcher Bears/Doctors/Nurses - two types, one for USA & Brits, the other for French & Germans; 37 mm Light Support Gun and crew (2 guns & 6 crew each) - only for the USA.
Except for the 37mm gun, most of these are 'accent' figures, but I could see the importance of the LPs for adding a +1 or so to the To Hit of a battery and/or early warning (read displaying off board reinforcements of Martians units) on advancing enemy.
37mm Infantry Gun 1 Element Cost 10pts Move 4" Def 5 Arm 4 Rng 20" +1 Pow RF 1 AoE 1" Spec: n/a [cost might be debated, but note that a Heavy Inf. Squad gets three +1 shots]
LP - each turn, roll a d10 - with 6+ forcing Martian player(s) to reveal one unit of off-board reinforcements. This can be as small as a drone squad or a full Tripod unit or specialty tripod (Scientist, Dominator, etc). Used in conjunction with a single artillery battery within 6", add +1 to the To Hit of designated battery. This affect could be extended by adding a radio unit or signals to the spotters (either one in a tank or a command post flag signals unit)

I have been looking for an alternative for the blip setup at the beginning of the game, especially for new people trying to get their heads around the game. It takes time to set up said blips and slows down the game quite a bit when getting started, as stated above. Having said that, I have not been successful. The LP's might be a way to do this with confusing the Martians as to where the actual unit is on the board while being allowed to put it on the table at the start. Definitely like the hospital set as this could be a scenario like in the book when the hospital is being overrun and has to evacuate the board. I didn't think they would ever get them done! Respectfully, Gunny

Yes it felt like forever - especially with the number of miniature conventions that went by after they were announced. I really thought they'd premier at Historicon or even this past Cold Wars. In any case, glad you might find an alternative use to the LPs. If you have the Old Glory Army card ($50 per year gets you 40% off everything they make), they come in at a cheap $3.60 each! The Hospital sets are a little confusing. The US/BR are both $7.20 with the discount - but, the French lists as $21 retail ? making it 12.60 retail, whilst the same German set lists as $12, discounted to $7.20. I intend to query Old Glory about this. I am hoping the correct price is $12/$7.20, making all the the units cost the same ($12/$7.20) for all four nations. That would really make more sense. I'm particularly excited about the 37mm infantry gun. This can be added to an infantry squad or even a HMG squad to give some drone defense. There might be a LoS problem for it to elevate enough to pop off at a tripod - I leave it to individual players to decide this, just do it Before the game starts. I forgot to check about the purposed new British armored cars. Will go back and report on those later.
