Working on the next book and I realized that while most Martian holdfasts are pretty self-sufficient, there will still be times when bulk cargo needs to be transported from one to another. While the assault tripods could probably carry a fair amount of cargo, it seems more efficient that there would be purpose-built vehicles to do that. So I'm tinkering with the idea of using two tripod models for their legs and scratch-building a body to create a 6-legged cargo walker. It would probably be unarmed and much more lightly armored than an assault tripod. If I can do this successfully it could lead to some interesting 'Humans raid the convoy' scenarios. I'll keep you posted.

Interesting. How about a nine legged centipede affair (3x3)?? Maybe I've gotten dumbfounded by all the red. Look forward to what ever you come up with. I think I'll stay with my little construction bots that I have.
