The omnibus has two new sections set on Mars between the three volumes. Also a section with short biographies of many of the historical characters I include in the books.

With the new rules due out in April and you're excellent series, I'm looking forward to a spring of AQMF reading for weeks worth. Not to mention all the new forum workups, reviews, rule tweaks, etc.

Got my Amazon order yesterday,
The dogs got me up early, about 4:30, so after taking them out I sat down to read "Invasion". Between getting up to get a drink for beside my chair, I finished it by the time I had to take the wife to work at 8:30. Very interesting throughout!
Saw the previous comment about the small type, but, what can you do!
So instead of just jumping into #2, I'll wait until I have some more quality time to devote to it.
Maps were very helpful, the battle actions seemed well done. Over twenty years I have served under the various types of commanders, the "inept", "average" and "follow into HELL". It is very sad that the higher you get, the more politics gets in the way of getting things done. Sometimes the "new" equipment that should trickle down to the Joes, gets stuck with the rear echelon types who want the new toys because they look cool and stylish.
So glad Teddy is in charge!!!
Enjoyed it immensely Scott!

So you read "Invasion" in four hours...? Do you know how long it took me to write that? Glad you enjoyed it. Personally, I think the books get better as they go along. Hope you think so, too.

Was a part time librarian in Junior High, We had a reading competition back then, I learned how to speed read. But, still get all the content, not missing a word. Helped that it looked double-spaced on the pages. Like I said, kept my interest, couldn't put it down! Well, apart from getting the wife's OJ for her! Does this mean you have to now start "speed-writing" ??

Hahaha. Yeah, I took a speed reading coarse in high school - got up to 2000 wpm with 90% accurate recall. As my wife is also an a lover of books, we have a whole den devoted to shelving (Ikea) all the books from years past & that space is now overflowing as well. Be warned that Scott's book are extremely additive! BTW - see my OOB section for the workup of the battles based on Scott's books. They make for excellent challenging scenarios.

I'm glad that we get to read details of the early years, From the setting in the 1st Ed book, I was looking at starting battles later on. Did I miss some naval battle games? Like the one where Teddy and the Germans blew up some Tripods in Venezuela? I'm sure it would have to be in much smaller scale though, than 15mm!!!

I didn't do one for that very one-sided affair. But, as you have shown an interest, I'll point out how I'd do it. For large battleships of the period, I'd use GHQs amazingly good line of 1/1200 ships. I'm sure you could get everyone of those listed in the book. For the tripods, just use the your regular ones - see my thread on Ships for details on range & power of guns. Be warned that the GHQ ships are not cheap, usually around $12 each. I find I'd have better use of my monies. One or two of those ships supporting operations along the coast can make a 'weak' Marine evacuation of civilians much easier.

Just so happens I have a couple of hundred dreadnought and pre-dreadnought ships in that scale!
