One more question I thought of just now,
I have the old AQMF boxed set, the rest have vanished from Modelers Mart at least, still available from other sources. IF......
A new boxed set is released, say for the European Front, will the old set be re-released but with the new 2nd edition rules inside? Then the "new" boxed set with different nations armys?
So maybe you have a choice of 2 or even three basic boxed sets, depending on who you like and the year of the invasion?

Wonderful offer S2G. Although AQMF is my main thrust of miniature games, I also have a growing collection of Old Glory Boxer Rebellion figures and buildings. Then, there's the card games (MTG, L5R, etc.), the RPGs (Runequest many editions, D&D (lots), etc. with all the figures to go with. Finally there's my collection of board games old & new - Strategy One, other SPI, Avalon Hill, (all the Squad Leader supplements), and a large collection of Fantasy Flight Games. Finally, my huge collection of 40k & Warhammer Fantasy figures, including thousands of Epic scale 6mm 40k. Then there's the terrain for 3 different scales (25-30, 15, & 6), the Wings of War planes, the Old Glory and Timberland ships (15mm & 10mm), a small collection of 10 mm ACW (Union)figures (for that game based on the Harry Turtledove book). Whew - summing it all up (aside from computer games), it's tiring just to account for it. So, thank you but no. I'm retired and mostly home bound, so I draw my games around me like a gold jealous dragon, and game mostly on the computer. Maybe I'll get it all painted some day.

Yes enaken, there's never too many figures to have in hand. If you can get them painted, all the better. And the best of both worlds is actually getting to Play With Your Figures in a game with friends. As you can see above, a life time of collection doesn't always lead to that 'both worlds' scenario.

I am not sure what is going on with AQMF figures for sale. I hope to hear from someone official soon.
Enakan, I have sent you 2 private messages. Did you get them?

Just saw them Hardlec,
I never checked up there in the PM area before, sent you a reply.
Saw that Miniature Market has the line back up on their site again. Sent them an email two weeks ago when they pulled them, I thought they were permanently gone.
Guess not!

I was pretty strongly resistant to telepathy for the Martians, but from the readings there appear to be three levels of communications: Short range tactical Global Interplanetary Short range tactical may be the result of confusion and immediate danger in tactical combat focusing the attention on local matters. No time for big thoughts when people are shooting at you! Global range would be between clan leaders, but not directly involved in combat. They have some slack mentally to do the comms and need to coordinate larger actions. The interplanetary with Mars I would envision as a "seance" type group effort. It would be conducted in quiet, soothing surroundings, permitting group psych effort. to reach similar groups on Mars. As always my US $0.02 Enakan and others: I have to recant my assertion that the Martians must have telepathic ability. I went back to read again. Book 1 -INVASION- in the very first section it states that the sole surviving Martiain of the first invasion force extended some kind of antenna and called home to report. Don't need telepathy when you have radio. Sorry about that.

Although in the 2nd and 3rd books there are references to Martian telepathy at a subconscious level which creates their seniority-based hierarchy of obedience.

But touch only though, right?
Like when a newly born "bud" contacts it's "daddy"?
To speed the learning process.

I suppose the 'knobs' they use in the Texas book are some form of a radio. As a former member of ASA/NSA, if its on the airwaves, it can be intercepted. The real question is can it be interpreted.

Sharks and rays have ampullae of lorenzini, which sense electric currents. This allows sharks to sense living (hence edible) things in a way that transcends the senses of humans. Puny Prey creatures might call this telepathy.
