Fellow AQotMFers: Reviewing the rager rules and wondered... noticed not many, really none that I can remember, battles using the rager models and rules. Is anyone using them in their games? Was pondering the fact that they may be too strong? Just curious... Discussion! Respectfully, Gunny P.S. Now that Slave2Gaming has their mutant tanks, raging can have their own tank forces too!

No ragers, no lobototons for me. BTW, I always thought the rager figures were kind of silly, with the people all ragged and zombie-looking. As I recall from the rules, the Martian weapon pretty much instantly turned a person into a slavering rager (like in the movie "28 Days Later") so unless the infected person was already dressed in rags, they would look just like they did before being infected

I agree with Mr Washburn on lobos. The lobos seem to be more a waste of good food than major combatants, although they add a degree of creepiness to the Martians. I have a few just for test purposes.
Ragers, I have not taken seriously nor bought.
My $0.02 US worth.

While I agree with boxholder on the creepiness factor, I don't agree with Scott on lobos overall. I think they keep the prey creatures busy by taking shots from infantry and MG's and assorted others especially when they start getting close. They can help the drones by taking it in the chops instead of the spidey creepies and keep them alive for other things. Still shudder thinking of the gunboat in Counterattack! when the Captain sees his second-in-command beheaded by a drone...Anyhoo, think they have their place in the game as cheap cannon fodder...I make the Martians capture civilians and soldiers in linked games for them to have lobos (Scientist Tripod aside)... Gotta work for the little trash can heads if ya want 'em…. Respectfully, Gunny

No zombies in my forces. Rager launching drones make more sense launching concussion grenades.
I don't like the creepy factor. Save it for warhampster.

I find Lobos are a cheap way to dig out enemy infantry units. I kind of like them.

After a time I decided to 'save the meat' and designed a more effective combat design that filled the spot of the lobos but still was humanoid in shape and able to root out humans hiding in ruins, houses, etc. I'll be back with the stats in a few.
