I'm relieved and excited by the news. My b-day is 31 March so what a perfect present with 2nd Edition!! If you folks wish to incorporate any of my various postings, OOBs, and/or TO&Es please feel free - I just ask for recognizing me as the author of those. I really hope you intend to have Scott Washburn in the discussion as his paperback books and Paper Terrain has been a major boon for us hobby lovers. Looking forward to it.
Post this before I saw page 2. So far, you're making all the right moves.
Regarding the SECOND edition, I have done a lot of combat testing of all the various units... US, British, Martian in the effort to RE-BALANCE the original point values for all units.
The original point value system just never worked correctly in building opposing forces for battles or scenarios... especially in creating competition battles or tournaments for game conventions. I would love to see these updated point values make into the NEW Second Edition.
I'm glad to hear about a second edition ... there are alot of things that could be cleaned up. I am excited about the different "damage charts" as well! I plan on continuing to support the game on The Dice Must Flow ...
It is no problem to make them yourself. Make up some simple pyramidal uprights. Then buy fluorescent plexiglas rods (1/8 inch DIA) at Michaels or other craft store. Punch some holes in the uprights and thread the rods through. The rods can be cut to any length you wish.
Edit: The rods come in various colors, all are a kind of fluorescent: red, yellow, green, and blue
Great news the game will keep fighting on! If you're going to fiddle with the timeline please don't have the martians wipe out Australia like it is currently!! My suburb (it was a little town then lol) existed before the martian invasion and I want to fight martians with an Australian army in my suburb/town
