Mostly cleaned up the core. Need to do some fill work. And I decided I don't like the open things on the side and I'm going to cover them. But I'm out of 1/4 inch tube so will have to go shopping first.

After considerable internal debate I decided to use the green gas spheres from the tripod sprues. Now on to attaching the legs.

An old trick of mine for sanding a flat surface: Lay a sheet of sandpaper on a flat surface. Set the piece on the paper and move it in a figure 8 pattern. The result is a flat, smooth surface. With fine enough paper (crocus cloth) or using a polishing media on felt, you can get a mirror polish on metal. Extra fine sandpaper from the big box DIY store works well to finish resin.

Yikes, I might have to pass on this one. Props to you for your persistence! I'm sure it'll look great when done.

Legs attached and gaps filled with green putty. Still a little clean-up to do on the assembly, but basically now it is on to the arms.

I mentioned the Pegasus Model sometime ago - see the vendor list for it under MI Toy Soldier.

Primed and ready to start the arms. The head is not glued on yet. Just set in place for the picture. Doughboys included for a sense of scale. I'll put it next to an Assault Tripod next time.

Thanks for posting the video. My experience has been pretty much the same as yours. I still have to do the arms and have been thinking about replacing the claws with ones from the plastic tripods. The ones that come with look great and would be fine for a static model, but I am afraid that they will easily get broken by handling on the table. I’m hoping to get to them this week so we will soon see what I decide.

Assembled Overseer with an assault tripod for scale. I replaced the fingers supplied with the model with claws from the plastic tripods. Here is a close up. I'll post some final pictures after getting it painted.

An extra good job on this one! Your rescue effort definitely turned a "sow's ear into a silk purse."
