David, The coal fields of South Wales are working hard feeding the furnaces of the steel & iron works of Dowlais and Cyfartha which are smelting the ores that will become your mighty landship. BTW - great backdrop story to the Conqueror Lanship from Paul Nippress - a great friend, gamer and bonkers mad War of the Worlds Fan can be found " here" The places of Dowlias and Cyfartha are actual Iron and steel works from my Home town Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales and have been nicely woven onto the background story by Paul, though their heyday was pre 1900 they were still producing Iron and steel during WW1 era and fit nicely into the storyline...) Good work as you mention - but, I'm sticking with my 'Ford Motor Co.' idea for the background on the Conqueror tanks

This is the joy of the whole Martian Front thing, so much scope for your own ideas on how the story goes. There will be more in the future about Hornblower and the crew of HMLS Primrose Hill, especially as his latest assignment teams him up with Patton and the Mobile Armored Corps. And watch out for Whittenbury's Warriors coming soon...

Have the Martians dared to attack Australia?

They wouldn't dare! We've got too many deadly animals for them here... And I'm not talking about the mother in law!

In Scott's second book, one of the Martians is reviewing the landings and the progress. It relates 6 continents, including Antarctica. If you allow Eur-Asia as one big continent (without the synthetic division at the Ural Mountains), then Australia must have been one.
The Outback would satisfy the Martian plan for landing in remote areas and expanding outward.

The Wallabies, Roos and Dingos were probably too tough for the Martians.

BTW, Andy, some very nice stuff. I'm really tempted by the Artillery I would recommend the artillery as well. It's based on a howitzer I saw at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Took a load of pictures and Andy applied his design magic, to create these beauties.

Thanks Paul & S2G - the howtizer was great to work on - especially with the pictures Paul supplied, a few changes from the original - mainly to make it more easily manufactured but you would not be too far out to field it in historical games. Really glad the AQ game is getting the support it deserves a great game some great source material and lots of areas to expand into. Regards Andy

I checked out the Conqueror site. Very nice howitzer. I really like the wheels. The trailers should work well with the IG tankettes and holt tractors. I have to say I am not a fan of the old AD landship. The idea of a DIY has much more appeal to me. Thanks.
