This is my first Kickstarter and was wondering when you support and pick the level and add ons you want when is the amount charged to your card for the total amount? It’s charged when the Kickstarter ends assuming it is successful

Well it's launched and I hope it does well. But it is too expensive for me, the rulebook is dearer than what I pay for GW ones and the fact there are no shipping costs stated without even thinking about the import charges. Luckily I have loads still unpainted from the 1st edition and I didn't have a problem with the rules especially with all the info on this forum. I find myself in the same position regarding the price, and I too have plenty of 1st edition to play some very big battles! I also have a concern about the change in the story. One of the things that attracted me to the game originally was the rich backstory that was set up. From the KS description it appears that the original invasion has moved from 1898 to 1904, and the second invasion from 1908 to 1917. It looks like WW1 was in full flow when the second invasion landed. It may be a good story, but I still love the original, especially when you add in Scott Washburn's excellent novels. And I'm a little nervous about the following... "Humanity has not been idle either. Scavenging the remains of the Martian's previous attacks, Humans too have learned. while most of the secrets of the Martian technology remain unfathomable, human ingenuity have enabled mankind too to invent new weapons of war and improving existing ones." I really hope that the "new weapons of war" don't include human walkers. Whilst I do like steampunk walking tanks, this game does very well without them. I wait to see..... I didn't realise they had changed the lore as I don't think they had mentioned this before , just like changing the scale from 18mm to 15mm which was only mentioned recently.

I will not be backing this personally. The backstory of the steam tank and time line was a big attractor for me for the original game, that is gone here! The new line does not mix well with the existing models. The price seems a bit high, and the rule book is priced way out of line, in my opinion. The models are unproven being 3d printed etc. Time will tell on that one. How bashable are these to traditional modeling techniques? On the up side, looks like it's off to a good start and I wish them well in their KickStarter. I do see the possibility of using a few of the German models and bashing them back to the steam era, which would give me a 3rd faction for the classing game. I made a prussian army using rules that madmorgan made which are all on this forum

From Facebook On October 30, 1938 at 8:00pm EST Orson Wells launched the radio broadcast of War of the Worlds. EXACTLY 85 years later, Abby Normal is launching the Kickstarter for Return of the Tripods, also inspired by the book by HG Wells. At 20:00 EST the Kickstarter will be live and you can start backing here: www.kickstarter.com/.../abb.../return-of-the-tripodsWe are incredibly excited and look forward to sharing this hobby with you soon!!

If the pic with the two forces are of equal point cost then the martians have gotten much weaker. As for the German land clad, a dreadnought turret in the middle would work better. The cost of units will decide how much I will go into the kickstarter. For me it's shipping and import costs to the uk. They mentioned in one post shipping to the uk for both armies would be $75 that's without import taxes so that would count me out but would still pledge for the rulebook. But on another post they mentioned looking at manufacturers in the uk that could make the models which would get rid of import taxes and make postage less. Will have to wait to see what happens. At least its not long now

Someone on the thread has asked what epic scale is and this is the reply
So they are changing the scale to 15mm which is annoying that they have not mentioned this before. I suppose to people they use stl files they can change the scale to match. I have asked for picture of the new troops and tanks next to the old ones and i will post once I get a reply

Is this a real freebie or is it only to be included with a sales unit when or if it launches? I can imagine you will have to pledge for some physical goods to get a freebie. I Asked the following question on Facebook And got the following reply So they are looking into things for overseas folks. So it's good news for Australia but not so good for us in Uk or EU. Shipping and import taxes will kill it for me but hopefully something can be worked out.
