Once again a 'class act' - great battle and look too! Awesome startup with that mass of Martian mayhem marching and mencing! Thank you again for these reports!

Very Nice.
How much impact did the Red Martian have on the fight?
Were did you get the civilian cars?

The Red Martian had very little effect, but the Martian player was being very timid about using it. It mostly hung around behind the Martian lines and did not close with the humans very much.
The vehicles are Jordon Products. They are true HO scale plastic kits and are a real pain to assemble. I was also concerned that they may be too fragile for a game table, and I did have two vehicles loose a wheel. Easily fixed, but I am thinking about making stands of clear plastic to give better protection and support for the wheels. I have two packs of the AD civilian cars that I have not assembled, and the AD vehicles are just a bit larger than the HO scale ones. But I think it will be alright if I do not place the two companies versions next to each other on the table.

My wagons and carriages are assembled HO stuff and they are fragile despite being based. Yours looked so good I thought maybe they were die cast.

I saw some Jordan kits at the local hobby shops and thought they were too frail for gaming use.

I am jealous of your Reaper and Veteran Pods.

I've built the 1914 Diamond T Purina Grain Truck and tow truck. Both are of very similar design and size to the AD Flivver model but more robust - no worries about soft metal and flimsy axles failing. The AD and WS kit designs are so similar I wonder if the WS design concept was copied.
There was a great deal of excess flash and big lumps of it on the tow truck, requiring a lot of work with file and a blunt exacto blade to dig it out of places where there should have been recesses. The 'grain' truck, which could be any kind of transport, was much better and is recommended though relatively expensive. I'm using the WS trucks as my Field Engineering Unit.

I still have in the box, unopenned, a 1978 made model of a Morgan's Rum truck from Lindseys "Models of Yesteryear" line. Its glorious and way too big in scale to use, but, I've keep it as an inspiration to me for gaming for years. I would think that the various Matchbox and Woodland models would work, if only in human 1/72 battles if necessary, and they are solid figures. That is, if you can find something that isn't 'toyland' stuff for kids. The local Walmart has just got in a new round of Matchbox models, including an Army style supped up roadster - a military hotrod! I was thinking Patton's staff car lol. Okay, more coffee, less meds...

City fight take 2 Refight of the city fight scenario using the same TOE Turn 1: Martians automatically have the initiative and use command chits to double move. Attacks on hidden units in the hotel and railroad station reveal units and set buildings on fire. On the other end of town an infantry unit ambushes a tripod but fails to do damage. An attack by the veteran tripod destroys a unit of MkIIs (not in the picture). Another tripod gets lucky and sets the warehouse on fire.

City fight 2 Human turn 1 The humans use Industrial Might to bring back the destroyed MkIIs, which are able to enter but not fire this turn (not in the picture). The MkIIIs and MGs in the warehouse come out and fire at the veteran tripod. No effect. (You cannot see the MkIIIs because the picture was taken after they retreated back to the warehouse. At the hotel more infantry and machine guns open up on assault tripods. Only minor damage.

City fight 2 Martians roll initiative turn 2 A tripod faces a line of tanks coming up the street and opens fire. One tank is destroyed and they fail morale. Here they are retreating. Near the warehouse the infantry that ambushed the first turn are destroyed. Attacks on units with heat rays set buildings on fire and a black dust attack nearly destroys a MG unit which fails morale. Near the hotel green gas attacks are damaging infantry units.

City fight 2 Human turn 2 Everything that can opens up on the veteran tripod (MkIIIs, Mk IIs, MGs available if the armor is pulled down) and it takes not a scratch. Several tripods are assaulted and some damage is done. Here both the Red Martian and an assault tripod side by side are assaulted. In the center of town and in the warehouse district more tripods are assaulted.

City fight 2 Turn 3: human initiative A big fight is going on in the warehouse district. Again all the available tanks fire on the veteran and fail to damage it. MSG, infantry and a pair of MkIIs fire on a damaged tripod. And succeed in bringing it down. More assaults. Fire from the buildings on a damaged tripod do major damage. It has lost control on both movement and fire. The tripod moving down the rail line is taken under fire and explodes, taking out a tank and damaging buildings. Two tripods down out of 6 needed to break.
