While I wait for my next order from Ironclad, I've started on another familiar building I've got about 12 more to build yet! I should be able to put on a good table when I'm done Craig

I apologise for the delay posting again - things have been hectic. Family in hospitable, looking after children and starting a new job. Things are settling down and I finally have had the chance to get started on making some of the buildings I have been picking up for my table. This is my latest effort: I'll keep posting updates as I am able Craig

I am experimenting with 30cm by 30cm boards for larger pieces. Here's a version of the farm in progress: I still have to fine tune the track Craig

Very nice set of photos. But the best news of all is the similarity of urban architecture (US to Australian). This makes it possible to use structures from any product line that you wish to represent any urban area you wish that are contemoprary. Even better news is that many of the structure lines are from the heyday of railroading which roughly corresponds to the AQMF timeframe.
Obviously, there are exceptions where the cities have older sections, particularly continental Europe.

Here's the Church and Vicar's house, along with some non-participating parishioners: The buildings are all removable, as is the graveyard for convenient storage. Craig

I finally figured out a way to base my buildings, make city blocks and keep the road widths flexible. I am creating 30cm x 30cm (or variants of 15cm) baseboards, so I can set up blocks that I can move about: I've got a number of buildings that will work well together to make city blocks similar to these, but multi-storey that should help me set up a flexible table that will be flexible and visually appealing. I'll also put together a residential area that this system should work well with. Craig

@ Morbius: Got the train time laser sidewalks and they are highly recommended. This gives you options on how wide you want the sidewalks to fit whatever buildings you have so you can adjust the size of the block that you need. Brilliant! Thanks again Morbius! Respectfully, Gunny

Another simple answer for sidewalks is just buy some thick plasticard. Mark it for strips of whatever width , score it, and snap it into strips. A quick shot of flat gray spray. You can pencil in cracks, joints, etc.
