No problem. I really appreciate you looking.
Time to break out the Green Stuff I think! I suppose one of the benefits of converting in this scale is that you don't need to be uber detailed!

There is a company in plastic miniatures that does 'gas masked' heads - however they are Very expensive and plastic, not metal. Good luck on you project.

It's actually just the regular BEF gun crew I'm after. I have 3 Heavy Field Guns for my BEF but the models come with US crew. I want them to match the regular BEF field fun crews rather than the 'rubbers up' guys that come with the coil gun. If I can't find spare BEF figures or similar I might try and convert the US crew into BEF. Given the small scale I can't see this would be too easy though. I think the only option would be to try copying BEF heads in resin with a silicone mold and switch the crews' heads, and if you had the patience make knee and elbow armour from Greenstuff. The photos confirm the Blue Moon figures are a good match in size to the AD figs.

Actually, they're a perfect match, as Old Glory was the company Ernie used for his miniatures. Not sure why or how the resin stuff broke down or even if they were doing them for AD. But, the figures are AD 1/92(18mm) size in all their lines. With their $50 a year 'Army' discount (40%!), you can't go wrong using them. Do check our the True North figures as well. I've gotten reports that the Command Decision line is more 15mm than 18mm btw. Enjoy!

A friend has a large collection of Old Glory and FoW figures and vehicles for WWII war gaming; the Old Glory and FoW figures are about the same size and can be based together.

Loyalist, my intention is to go Greenstuff for all the conversions, converting the US Artillery crews into BEF.
Fingers crossed it won't be a crazy amount of work.

Loyalist, my intention is to go Greenstuff for all the conversions, converting the US Artillery crews into BEF. Fingers crossed it won't be a crazy amount of work. It'll take you a while! Five figures per crew so 15 crew, 60 Greenstuff knee and elbow pads, and 15 chest plates if you bother with them. Are you going to copy the BEF heads in resin? I'll let you know how I make out when I try that this weekend. The knee and elbow pads should be easy to do but tedious.

Why did you have to work it out for me? Ignorance is bliss! I wouldn't know where to start with resin so I'm going to have to try greenstuff which shouldn't be too much work.... unless I get reminded otherwise

Scott,
Those are incredible models!
I have to ask - how did you paint the wood? It is terrific!
Mine should arrive soon - ordered them earlier this week - and this is fantastic inspiration.

The wood is just balsa wood. I painted it a dark gray and then dry-brushed several lighter grays over that. Since I painted the resin trench pieces in the exact same fashion, it matched very well.
