I've just discovered the Rebel Minis Sci-fi Titan Marine figures. I think they'd be great as British Assault Infantry if they're big enough.
The Titan Marine Infantry have a helmet with good neck coverage at the rear and an integral gas mask. They have chest, shoulder, and thigh armour. Unlike most sci-fi infantry I've seen their guns aren't too futuristic looking and could pass as heavy experimental rifles with box magazines. I think they'd paint up really well with WWI British infantry colours.
They come in a pack of 22 with 5 poses for $10.95 US. Does anyone know if they are 'true' 15mm or larger?

Yes they do look like they could work. I would be interested to see a scale comparison if anyone has any

Yep the Rebel Minis are 18mm in height. Just 'tested' them against my US penny - perfect. I also checked those gasmasked British colonial troops they carry and they're 18mm as well.

Nice, I like those a bit better than the 'hazmat' troopers I got from Rebel for the British Heavy Infantry. Good call!

They're the best looking figures I've found for BEF Assault Infantry, and one pack will give me the two 10-man units I needed. I may add a couple of the Rebel tripods to the order.

Nice. Not sure how'd I'd work in the Command Pack (TMCP1 @$3.99) but you could just mix an officer or nco in to the mix and use some of the extra displaced troopers for guard duty at command posts. Not as elegant solution as yours, but you'll have 2 extra figures after the squads, so maybe those become guards at the highest level of infantry command on the table. Do you like the paint job on Rebels site?? Kinda British khaki, eh?

I like the paint job but would use paints with more brown-green hues to match the WWI British uniforms.
If I buy the 6 figure Command set I'll have 8 spare figures, 2 of which will need mods because they're holding some kind of electronic communication device. The spares can be used as a command unit specifically for the Assault Infantry and the rest as guards at the entrances to AD trench bunkers.

Nice. I looked at a organization for the squads, favoring just the box set as the command made it 'sticky'. But I'll show you my idea on that in case you want to work it in. I kinda thought commo guy could be used as an explosive setter. So you get (2) Squads or 10 rifles ec @60 = 120pts 2units/2BP and a command squad of 2 ec officers, NCOs, Engineer (explosives), and Rifles for 8 figures/2elements @60pts 1unit/BP Each 'platoon' comes in at 180pts 3Units 3BP - reasonable. After looking at these troops for a while, I've decided that they will become the new USA second generation Assault Infantry. The Assault Infantry would be expanded to a full platoon, with heavy weapons and mortars. The Rebel Minis SAP1 at $13.99 makes an excellant price point with the following troops: 22 Rifle, 1 HMG, 1 Rocket Launcher, 3 Command. Its a shame the APC looks so modern for these guys. I also like the 'Tom CATs and 'Wild' CATs bipedal machines (RMS 5020 & 5021) for 2ndGen Martian bipedal CABDs per my idea on replacements for Lobos. Can't wait to see your paint job on those guys.

The Rebel Mini Titan Marines arrived today and are closer in size to 15mm FoW WWII British desert troops than BEF infantry. Although they are 17-18 mm tall including a thin base they are 2-3mm shorter than AD figures, which are mostly 20mm or slightly more in height. They are also much less bulky. Of all the AD figures I have only the officer from the US Command Unit is of comparable size and build, being only a millimeter taller.
I mounted them on Renedra bases and when placed next to BEF troops they look too small to use together. They'd be great if someone was planning a 'true' 15mm scale AQotMF army. For game use I'll probably make up a scenario that just involves a small unit of BEF Assault troops and its Command unit, plus vehicles. For the Command unit I made a vignette of 5 Assault infantry surrounding a dead or captured Martian crew figure.
I'll continue to look for 'Assault infantry' figures that are a better size match for AD figs. Has any one received Slave2Gaming 'Dark WWI' British figures yet? They might be a closer match in height; from comparison photos I saw they looked a tad shorter but at least as bulky.

I've just acquired some US Heavy Infantry. Having got my hands on them I love them!
I was thinking of painting them up as BEF assault infantry. They're such characterful models it seems such a shame not to use them.
Their rifles would fit the bill for the Experimental Rifles. They're not perfect but they might just do it!

I don't see any reason not to do it. I haven't found figures I thought were completely suitable for use as BEF Assault Infantry and was considering doing the same. I don't think my Canadian force would have such specialized US equipment.
