Okay, I give up - trying to count the number of civilian stands - I get 33 or 34 including the car & buggies. Each one seems to be at least a 'family' of 3 or 4 figures. Looks like 40mm diameter (like MG bases). How many civilians stands, counting vehicles?? Great looking 'fleeing mob' by the way; even by my count (34) somewhere between 102 to 136 figures (x3 or x4 per stand)!! So the victory conditions is going be based on civilian survival/capture? Sorry, I'm ahead of myself due to the excitement your generating with this awesome display!

Love the spectator on the field. I have similar problems. Will post a pic the next time it happens. One cat we once had had a sure fire way of getting attention. He would sit on the table and watch and if he decided we needed to pay attention to him he would reach over and pick up a stand of figs in his mouth and run off. Sure-fire way to get us to chase him. He died at age 18 about 13 years ago and I still miss him.

Gads, I understand your pain. My all white minx Bard died after 17 long years. Still painful. My cats like to 'roll dem bones' - those dice are such interesting things! The d20s and d30s (fantasy gaming) are their favorites of coarse. I still haven't found my d100 from back when - its in the basement somewhere.

That is the most fearsome martian War-machine I have seen yet!

Turn 1: Martians have initiative - the scout cell is able to move and shoot - the scouts double move on a flanking manuever and torch a fleeing flivver, The harvesting cell come up the middle with a double move to get within position to raid the fleeing civilian column. The combat cell is a more northern approach to use longer range weapons.

Human Turn 1 The Missouri Militia is on the southern flank and launches assaults on a scout and the approaching drones. The assault on the scout causes a damage point. HMGs cause no damage. Combined arty fire and infantry assault destroys three drones. The Marines come out of hiding. Snipers damage a slaver. Infantry fire and assault destroy four drones. Marine HMGs open fire on the assault tripod. Two hits penetrate and the resulting die roll causes an explosion! The Dominator despite armor 12 is unlucky and suffers three points of collateral damage. The little scientist manages to escape scott-free. The train and a civilian wagon are lost in the explosion. The USS Weston takes a shot with the 7" gun, hits the damaged Dominator, but rolls a lousy 1 for penetration.

Turn 2 - Humans win initiative with aid of the downed tripod bonus The dough boys launch another round of assaults destroying one more drone. HMG and arty concentrate fire on undamaged scout and inflict a damage point. The Marines launch a massive assault on a slaver now that the drone screen was removed. the assault inflicts another damage point and critical weapons hit. The Marine snipers, HMGs, and the USS Foss concentrate fire on the wounded Dominator but no damage. Civilians begin to board the White Cloud.

Martians launch a counter assault in the center with drones and heat rays. The dough boy unit loses two to drone attack and loses morale. Because of the proximity of the drones to the harvester two dough boys end up in the maw of the harvester. The Marines feel the full wrath of the Martians and lose four teams to drones and heat rays. Two marines end up as harvester pudding from drone assaults. The snipers avoid damage despite fire from quad laser and scientist fire. Morale holds! The scouts advance some but blocked by the infantry screen and not in range of the ships. The destroy one militia unit. Second movement phase the Martians advance to trap the fleeing humans. The Dominator positions to engage the USS Weston.
