Like an idiot, I never downloaded the rules on the old Board about the Green Gas/Black Dust Launchers.
I have tripods armed with these weapons, and I am unsure how to use them. IIRC the ones in the Main rulebook were different from the ones on the site.
Edit: Nevermind I found them! I am so happy!

How did they differ from the book?

This topic brings to mind a question: I have seen reference to "limited number" of shots for the black dust launcher. I have not been able to find it in the rule book. Where is this limited stated?
Question 2: Is a green gas tripod limited to the number of green gas balls on the model or is this simply an aesthetic choice?

There is no limit to how many can be thrown in the rules. Given that games last 5-6 turns and the tripod is unlikely to be in range to fire in Turn 1, five grenades should suffice. :>)
If you attach the gas grenade container like I did (see 'Modifying Assault Tripod Tentacles' in the WIP section) you could mount two containers per Green Gas equipped model.

Within the scope of a game, they are both unlimited 'ammo'. Remember AQ doesn't have a 'time' scale anymore than a 'distance' scale, so its all good to rationalize it as you will. Same goes for the Grenadier, Shock Drone, and Royal Viral Drone - no limits on ammo for a given game. I suppose you could do a huge, long winded battle that lasts many turns with a 'resupply' needed, but just don't see going into this amount of problem causing situations. One of the great things about AQ is its really quick game resolution, especially in the 2000 point or less catagory.

Love this discussion. Gave me an idea for a low supply scenario for the Martians.

Hmmm, not a bad thought that. A 'Supply' cell spotted by aircraft heading to a critical sector with several of the ADs spare-parts GG canisters and Blk Dust 'guns', being transported by drones or Gatherers with bins with a Scientist in charge for upgrades. Also could throw in a Power Node or some of those {Reaper Miniature} Bones model generators for unknown tech being transported by some Constrution Engines. Begs for an ambush scenario. Good thought.

I like the way you generate scenarios!

Loved your work on that and this certainly allows for a longer battlefield presence of Green Gas. I won't be doing it, as I'm already at work on the 'Supply Cell Incident' scenario for units transporting the GG containers forward. LOL - thats really a sad excuse to cover my lack of modelling skill.

How did they differ from the book? Sorry, I meant the mini rule book. I have the hard cover too but forgot they were in there.

No problem. Its more pain for the human prey.

I like loyalist's idea for mounting the gas grenade magazine and took it a bit further. I decided to put two of them on one tripod. Then modified the throwing arm (for a high throw instead of a low toss) and set the legs as if drawing back for a "Hail Mary" throw.

If you look in the WIP section under 'Modifying Assault Tripod Tentacles' you'll find a photo of my modified Green Gas tripods demonstrating overhand and underhand grenade tossing.
