I must say I am looking forward to Scott's up coming Texas Front book in the spring. I like the way he writes and adds historical figures into the story line. One of my favorites is Patton. I am in hopes that with the French landing in Mexico that the French Foreign Legion will once again take the fore front in Mexico. Back in 1863 Legion Captain Danjou with a force of 65 Legionnaires at Camaron Mexico took on a force of 3000 Mexican infantry and cavalry. The French lost with the force wiped out except for two men that the Mexican forces felt should live due to the gallant fight the Legion put forth. In fact, Camaron Day to this day is a big Legion holiday. Every April 30th Capt. Danjou's wooden hand is paraded in front of the Legion with full honors. Now I look forward to the Legion taking on the "Marvins" (Martians). Just think of it, The spirit of the Alamo and possibly the French Foreign Legion will be a good fight and one I can not wait to read. Your thoughts my friends?

Things are coming along well with Texas Front. You should be aware that the person doing 98% of the actual writing is Jonathan Cresswell-Jones, a writer I've collaborated with for many years. Jonathan is a wonderful writer, but his style is different from mine. I'm providing him with the background information and I'm checking his work to make sure he stays true to it. But it is his story and his characters for the most part, and he's done the same level of research I have to make the situation in Texas and Mexico as accurate as possible. He's come up with a whole new set of historical figures beyond the ones I've supplied him with. I think you'll be very pleased with what he has come up with.

Cameron was an interesting battle. It's not often a military organization celebrates a loss.

As an aside, see my TO&Es and OOBs for the FFL are on this site - I've got two regiments on North American continent (New Orleans and Quebec) and some battles for other parts of the world. Enjoy!
