I've filled in the two small portholes on each side of the superstructure and replaced the forward ones with hinged shutters made from styrene sheet and rod. They're smaller versions of the shutters on my bunker command towers in the Trenches thread.
I had cataract surgery on one eye a few hours ago so can't drive, go to work or to the gym for a week. That'll give me a lot of extra time for AQ modelling and painting.

Hope the surgery heals OK. Do exactly what the doc says--no fudging.

Hope the surgery heals OK. Do exactly what the doc says--no fudging. Thanks! I'll behave and follow orders. I've been working on the Canadian Field Commander's vehicle this afternoon. The decals and washes are done and there are a couple of highlights to finish tonight. It'll be finished tomorrow AM.

Done! I'll take photos in a couple of days when I have a few other things to shoot.
I've spent the afternoon making 30 x 80 bases for Flivvers from 1.5 mm thick styrene. Because of the weak axles, particularly the forward ones, each Flivver has had a 1/16" hole drilled through the bottom immediately behind the front axle and into the engine compartment. A section of 1/6" brass rod was glued into the hole and cut off so it extends 2-3mm below the wheel. The rod will be glued into a hole drilled in the base so there will be no weight on the front wheels.

I echo the medical advise. Worked for an Eye Clinic a number of years as an administrator and I can't tell you the number of times patients developed very real problems due to not following all the post op instructions.

Here's the completed Canadian Field Commander's vehicle. The plastic tank hull was stretched 1/2" and the top compartment built from styrene and the ends of two Mk III tank superstructures.

Really like that especially the front machine gun I used the same idea for the front HMG mount as for an alternative gun for the BEF Tommy tank: an old plastic bead with a brass pin glued into the pre-existing hole through it, and the HMG barrel glued onto the pin. The rim around it is the top of a spare 4" gun turret with a hole drilled through it. The original gun mount looked too thin and was very hard to cut off at an even height so it was completely replaced by the new, thicker rim.
