Those who know me know how I've argued for the British "armored infantry"/assault infantry being Gas Proof. With things changing somewhat within the game, I again appeal that the BEF Assault Squad is Gas Proof. It makes no sense that the more tech advanced Brits suits are less protective than their USA counterparts. This unit has powerful rifles (Ishapore or Mars Pattern) with +1Pow, assault +3 explosives and strangely no 1/2pdr coilgun like Infantry Squad has. Considering a point jump from 35 (Inf) to 60 (Asl) for a squad, this unit demands to be Gas Proof. My humble option.

Given the points cost for the Assault infantry they should be gas proof. They are not sufficiently more powerful than the standard BEF infantry to cost nearly twice as much, when they can be destroyed just as easily.

As it stand, they are 25pts more than a standard Infantry squad without (!) a 1/2pdr coilgun. So 60 - 30 (w/o coilgun)Inf Sqd = 30pts Explosives @10, Mars rifle @5, Gas Proof @15 = 30pts. This seems most reasonable.

That seems a fair way to make the Assault Infantry unit worth 60 pts.

I'll toss my hat in as well and change them I'm my future games besides it allows me to make them distinctive from the indian and Canadian infantry when running a bed game.
