My aim to create a Kingdom of Prussia army mainly using @160 Black Hat Miniatures Martian Empires range. The Prussian army is an army in its own right even though it often fights with the Imperial German Army as an autonomous division. It is common to see Imperial German Army units in a Prussian army but very rare to see Prussian units on their own in the Imperial German Army.
These are very much a WIP
Command Squad : 1 Element @30 Infantry Squad : 3 Elements @30 Heavy Infantry Gatling Gun Squad : 3 Elements @40 Normal Gatling gun equivalent to a machine gun Heavy Infantry Flamethrower Squad : 3 Elements @50 Rules for the flamethrower as per the German Army Rules by MadMorgan Clockwork Troops : 2 Elements @60 Spd 6" Def 5 Arm 5 Spec : Gas Proof, Won't Break, Accurate firing +1 to hit Rocket Troops : 1 Element @20 Works like Forlorn Hope. When within 10" of target they activate their rockets and jump into combat. Roll 1 explode, 2-9 jump fine , 10 they jump 10" in a random direction. They can only jump once per game. Armed with explosives +3 power and short carbines with range of 10" Lancers Squad : 3 Elements @60 with Adhesive lances the same idea as BEF Bengal Lancers Field Gun Battery : 3 Elements @80
Steam vehicles are of a lighter construction than the USA tanks due to advanced metallurgy. This makes the tanks faster and the heavy tank has twin boilers to keep the speed up due to heavier armour.
Light Steam Tank : 3 Elements @160 Spd 7" Def 4 Arm 7 Weapons Heavy Gatling Gun Tank Version
Heavy Steam Tank : 3 Elements @220 Spd 7" Def 4 Arm 8 Weapons : 2 x 4" Guns 1 x Heavy Gatling Gun Tank Version
Walker : 1 Element @80 Spd 7" Def 5 Arm 9 Weapons : Heavy Gatling Gun
Heavy Walker : 1 Element @100 Spd 7" Def 6 Arm 10 Weapons : 2 x Heavy Gatling Gun, 1 x 4" Gun
Heavy Gatling Gun Walker Version : Range 30" Power +2 Spec : Rapid fire 4 - on a roll of 1 to hit gun is jammed and cannot fire that turn. Heavy Gatling Gun Tank Version : Range 25" Power +2 Spec : Rapid fire 3 - on a roll of 1 to hit gun is jammed and cannot fire that turn.
Flamethrower Rules by MadMorgan
Flamethrower @5 ec : stats as infantry Rng 10" +4Pow RF 1 Spec: hits d3 targets, Explosive - roll a natural when firing and explodes! destroying team and producing a Barrage 1 AoE blast targeting all in its range. Comment: Often used vs drones and Lobos, this weapon is feared by its operators! There is rumors that there is an elite unit being developed with a single man version without the problem.

What an excellent background and write up. Now I've got to get some Black Hat figures! ty, I'll be using the above for my 'Prussian' army.

Whilst shopping on the Black Hat website, I noticed two things. First is the odd Prussian Gun. What are you thinking for that one quendil?? I'm sure its covered in their ruleset (Martian Empire), which I intend to get. But, it certainly looks odd. I started looking to 'Morganfy' the various figures in the two current ranges (British & German). By that I mean, I started thinking about creating units based on my needs in AQ - which means I like the above Prussian rules, but do see a 'different' light about how to utilize the figures. For example, I have a Capt. Nemo specialized unit that raids the coast & swamps around New Orleans. Reminds me I need to post that TO&E for that one. In any case, the basis of it is the hovercraft, another thing that was developed IRL during the early 1900s. The two British hovertanks are perfect for this unit - the Light being an infantry APC and the Heavy being a tank - with a newly developed QF 32pdr (96mm/3.78") Anti-Tripod Gun. The smaller rifles mounted on the sides of the Heavy are a new "Mars Pattern Autorifle", firing at a high rate. The 'naval gatling' is just that, a heavy wheeled gatling used on board ships and offloaded to support marines & shore parties. The biggest draw back to the Black Hat line is that a large number of the Prussian infantry lack gasmasks (save the one figure line and the rocket troops). I will work on modeling masks for all of those figures (as well as the Prussians, I can't stand not having some of those gatling & flamethrower figures not on the table sans gasmasks!). For the German figures, the light and heavy tanks work just fine as is - the light working as an APC and the heavy as a tank. The side guns on the tank will be rated as 37mm coilguns (= 1pdr). As for the British walkers, they 'stand' on their own with the heavy gatlings. The German tanks are easily rerated as an APC for the light tank and a proper tank for the heavy. Those guns are special on the heavy - probably go with either a highpowered coilstyle or new 'laser' device (focused but non-Martian - btw I agree the Martian HeatRay is focused plasma, not laser). In all this a reclassification of the gatlings will be due - small, medium, large, is the thought at present. I'll be posting all this as soon as I can sort it out & till then will put the Nemo's unit up for all to chew on (again). Enjoy!

Not sure on the Gun but just going to use it as a field gun and probably use some of the british gatlings as prussian as well

Hmm I see it as either a very highpowered rocket (recoiless rifle) gun by the looks or maybe a new take on a Tesla (would work some in scale wires to a generator on wheels behind). I think I like the recoiless better as clean without having to findle with it. Thanks for the thoughts.

Here is the progress on my Imperial Prussians:
Tanks based on the Dystopian Legions Kettenkarres Tankette using MK II or MK III Steamer tank stats for simplicity and a scratch built Scout Blimp, with Martian Scout tripod for size comparison. The first wave of Prussian Scout Blimps advancing to support the attack on Council Bluffs to strains of Wagner's Ride of the Valkerie playing in the background. Dunn-duh-duh-DUNNNN-DUNN, Dunn-duh-duh-DUNNNN-DUNN...! Emhar's 1/72 scale A7V is just asking for a role as a heavy tank like the US MK IV Steamers.

Q, I added a rule to the Clockwork troops - which are powered in my version by a backpack battery. After any 1st phase move, roll a d10 and with a '1' the things out of juice. No further movement or firing for the rest of the game. Drastic but 'realistic' limitation of these special troops. Don't over look the 'hand' Gatling gun. Just add a '1' natural roll for it to jam and rock & roll! In fact I've got Jam special rules on all of the various Gatling guns as it makes it a little more fair (based on the Kitchener trigun).

Very nice figures indeed; the HMG was a superb 3 piece casting. I received a free sample pack of them after a large S2G British tank order. Re-gifted them to another forum member who's into Prussians. (I didn't want to build a third human army.)

Do have a look at my "Battletank" series in my TO&E section. I've used all of the various Dystopian Legions tanks, guns, and apcs with upgraded capacities for those beautiful figures. Heck, on of the main tanks is perfect 'mono' tank type with flamers! Good stuff, if a bit pricey.

I'll be posting the new Black Hats Industry listing soon, to include the sad Liverpool Survivors units. Why "Black Hats" - its a top secret organization whose techs and agents wear black bowders! BTW, head of the organization is the mysterious "Mr. Stead". (dun dun dun emmm!)

I love the scout Blimps.
I would hate to be in one of those when a Heat Ray opens up though.
