I've started to paint up my martian force! So far I've only been able to get the base coat on them - I ordered some additional paint since I was happy with the way that Vallejo Metal Color Magnesium sprayed. I really like the look of it on the tripods, and I've ordered Jet Exhaust to use on the tentacles and the heat rays. Below you can see how it compares to a flat black primer (which is on the right obviously): What I like about the Magnesium color is that it's not overpowering - not super bright like chrome, but give just enough metallic color to let you know it should be metal. If any of you are on the fence with the Metal Color line, use it. You won't be disappointed, it was a breeze to use right out of the bottle! As a side note, what brand/color did you folks use for the green gas balls?

Yes, that looks very nice. I use3 Testor's Gunmetal spray which has a very similar look. Then I drybrush lighter shades of silver to bring out the details.

Tamiya Gun Metal spray paint is slightly darker. Like Scott I dry brush with a brighter silver, also paint the ring around the eye with silver. I use GW Nulln Oil wash at joints and in recesses.
